How do I order a new sign?

We get this question quite frequently. Often times clients seem a bit uneasy about starting the process because of the unknown. At Paramount Signs, we make the process easy. We will guide you through the process to create the perfect sign that fits your needs and budget.

We understand that most people do not purchase signs on a regular basis. That is why we go the extra mile to explain the process and guide you to make informed decisions. Below we explain the process so that when it comes time to place your next order you feel confident!

Initial consultation

We strive to spend the appropriate amount of time with you so that we clearly understand your business and your needs. Keeping in mind local code requirements and restrictions, we will review the basic sign styles that will best fit your requirements. We feel it is important to know your end goal and expectations of your sign package. From driving foot traffic into a business with ease of navigation to promoting and branding the business. Knowing the end goal helps ensure that the sign package can achieve your goals.

Proposal

Based on the initial consultation we can provide examples or concept visuals for you to select a basic concept. Based on the concept, we can provide a proposal. The proposal will include sign costs, installation costs and design costs. We also provide permitting services. If the pricing meets your budget and you wish to move forward, we will request your formal approval and a deposit to start the process.

The first place to start is finalizing the sign design. Our design team works with you to ensure the design fits your purpose, location and overall vision. Sign design takes into account location, distance from the viewer, color palettes, shape usage and font selection and sizes. We will create a final design proof for your review. At this point, we typically only need minor adjustments to the design.

Permitting

The lion’s share of new exterior jobs requires permitting. We want to make it one less thing you have to worry about! We offer an operations team comprised of highly experienced permit specialists as well as project managers. This team will review the municipal code prior to design to ensure compliance as well as prepare documentation for permit submission. Additionally, this team will follow up with municipality officials to ensure sign permits are secured in a timely fashion.

We typically hold the start of production on a sign until we receive permit approval. This safeguards both our team and the customer from getting too far into the fabrication only to have the authorities request a change from the design leading to unexpected costs. This extends the timeline somewhat but reduces the risk of starting over. Depending on your township permitting can take anywhere from 30+ days. Make sure you keep this in mind when planning for your new sign!

After permit approval, we release the project to production. Depending on the type of sign or fabrication process, we will make a decision for in-house fabrication or we outsource to specialists that we have audited and have long-term relationships with to ensure we get the best price and quality for our customers.

The work is not done until your sign is properly installed. We are sticklers at this phase as all the hard work done upfront could go to waste if the sign is not installed according to installation specifications and in compliance with all local and state requirements.

At this point, you can stand back and watch your sign work for you! A quality sign presents your business in the best light and drives traffic.
